As you all know, Guyana is hosting the IKD 4th World Cup from July 16 to 22, 2024. The venue is the refurbished, air-conditioned Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown. Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai wants to know about your intention to attend and the number of athletes and supporters/chaperones. Just give him a ballpark number. This is to negotiate affordable hotel rates. Accommodation may be a problem due to the oil workers, executives, and tourists. We must act immediately; you can cancel or reduce the numbers later. Please don’t wait until the last moment to show up.
Second, the winner of the World Cup will receive not only the Cup but US$1,000.00 cash to aid your dojo COVID-19 recovery. The second-place runner-up will receive US$500.00. It may be more, but not less.
Moreover, the Guyana government is supporting this important event. The IKD has already confirmed the Sports Hall and are providing all transportation by bus, airport, and hotel airport. The Hotel to the Sports Hall and return. If the President is not away on Government business, he may attend the Cup and meet you all.
Please confirm you will bring your country’s flag, the size to be determined later. Shihan Woon-A-Tai also expects to offer three awards: Medal of Service, Hall of Fame, and Lifetime Achievement Award (new). The judges’ summer uniform should be available by then (new). It will be a great competition.
