The largest International Karate Daigaku clinic since the onset of the COVID-19 virus was held this weekend in Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada.
The regional directors, Shihan David Pyke, 8th Dan and Shihan Janice Pyke, 7th Dan were pleased to have Shuseki Shihan Frank Woon-A-Tai, 10th Dan travelled to the region for the first time since June 7, 2019.
Out of approximately 150 students who attended, 117 would go on to test for different kyu ranks and 7 for different Dan ranks.
For the majority of these students, this was the first time training with Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai. The students enthusiasm to learn was refreshing.
Sensei Isabelle Bordage was inducted into the IKD Hall of Fame – Athlete Category. Highlighting her years of competition success. Sensei Isabelle has competed at a elite level since 1994. She has missed only two National tournaments. Each time was due to the birth of her children. Her most memorable moment was earning 2nd Place in kata at the ISKF World Cup in Toronto in 2008.
